“I first learned about NUSHU and NUSHU Group through my business coach who’s friends with NUSHU’s Founder, Vanessa Cornell. Given my experience and career goals, my coach suggested I join NUSHU Group to reorient and expand my coaching practice, Life Optimization. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a seeker and I’m constantly asking myself, ‘How can I live a life that is purposeful, intentional, and meaningful, and how can I help myself and others in that process?’
In November 2021, I decided to join NUSHU Group and I’ve been a NUSHU advocate ever since. Following NUSHU Group, I participated in NUSHU Group Facilitator Training. I came to NUSHU not knowing anything about it, but I came with an open heart and an open mind, fully immersed, fully myself, and fully present. What I discovered was truly amazing.
Prior to participating in NUSHU Group and training as a NUSHU Group Facilitator, I was very action-oriented. I was the notorious H-E-L-P-E-R, always jumping in to help, especially when it came to coaching. When clients approached me with an issue or problem, I would provide a strategic roadmap for solving their issues and achieving their goals. While that certainly works, with NUSHU Group I discovered there are so many other ways to help.
NUSHU Group affirmed what I already intuitively knew: we all hold the wisdom we need to guide us through life within ourselves. The guru, ‘I’m here to help you’ model is one way of helping others, but this concept is not truly sustainable for long-term change. NUSHU Group offered space for me to sit with my thoughts and to have intensely interesting conversations around thoughtful questions. I started to think of life in different ways because I gave myself the space to slow down from doing everything else and taking care of everyone else. Since then, my coaching and my interactions with family, friends, and clients have changed for the better.
Being a part of the NUSHU community, coupled with my previous career and life experiences, has further equipped me to live out my purpose. I’ve already begun my transformation and plan to continue providing safe spaces for my clients, family, and peers, and guiding individuals towards a more fulfilled life.”
